Could it be my period?

I'm EBF and currently 6 weeks pp. All my after baby discharge was gone at 4 weeks and I was completely dry for like two weeks when a couple days ago I started bleeding period colored blood with my usual period symptoms. I'm not bleeding through pads or passing huge clots (normal period bits every now and then) but I'm still worried if I'm supposed to have a period this early 😓 I've also gotten tender again where I was stitched and can't tell if it's just irritated from wearing pads or if something is wrong because of the bleeding. My tear is right inside the opening of my vag so its already hard to look at anyway. My 6 week apt is tomorrow, but I was wondering if anyone on here dealt with something similar or had any advice as to what it is.
