OMG! Had my little baby boy in the Hospital's ER parking lot!!

Elizabeth • Single mother of two beautiful children Gypsi and Koda.

It all started Sunday 11/12/17 my boyfriend and I were checking up some tv shows. Around 11:30 I started having cramps first they were light and noticeable but then they started hurting. Mined you this is my second baby. My doctor induced me with my first baby so I didn't really know what to look for or feel. Didn't know how water break feels because my doctor broke it for me and my contractions where all pelvic cramp pressure. So when I felt the cramp and the back pain that started to come along with after midnight I didn't think anything of it. I tried to soothe it with hot shower but I didn't want to be alone so about 1:00am ish maybe little before on 11/13/17 I woke my boyfriend from the bathroom telling him it really hurts I'm sure if it's contractions or not. And about the 6 time he timed me the contractions (pain/cramps what I thought at the time being out of it) they would range from 3 minutes to 2 minutes and to 1 minute apart and the 3 time of puking (melted Velveeta cheese is the same coming back up). So I had him call my mom and explain everything and she to us that I'm in labor most likely call the hospital and then call me. And the entire time our 1 year old little girl is sleeping through it all. Anyway so after he hangs up with my mom he calls the hospital and gets ahold or the nurse who takes everything he says and says wait for the on call doctor to call back. He's calls us telling us to come into the ER the second we can I be check out to see what's going. Then my boyfriend calls back my mom and tells her to come over immediately the doctor on call wants to make sure nothing is wrong. So then what felt like 10 minutes of telling her I don't care if she comes to the hospital with me or stays with our daughter just get here. And the entire time I keep going in and out of the hot shower and being on the floor in a lot of pain. Now it's about 2:00am and my mother is driving over to watch our daughter while we go to the ER. My boyfriend gets me dressed he started to put his sweatpants on me and I told him no cause I was burning up and that I just wanted a nightgown and underwear which he did and helped me into them and socks and my shoes. I love him a lot because he was trying to keep me warm since we were going out in 30* rain. My mom gets there and we're ready to go I got my small trash can in can I puked in the car. We get out our apartment door and go down one set of stairs (glad the landing was there and the front door of the building) and I have another contraction forcing my to the ground so my mom stayed with me while my boyfriend went around to get his car. She goes back inside when he helps me out the front door helps me into the passenger seat. And we're off to the ER at this point I have no clue what time it is and all I know is the pain I'm feeling. I felt so bad on our hasty drive over to the hospital which like 20 minutes from our apartment because every time I had a contraction I almost hit the car shifter with my butt. Now we are about 10 minutes out from the hospital and my water breaks which I now know how it feels. (Weird but seems accurate to me how it felt which was if someone took those hamster tracks and pushed a small water balloon down and it gets stuck then some pokes it with a needle and everything falls out). When I notice I try to tell my boyfriend but every time I went to I had a contraction I couldn't speak but I was I looked up and out the window to be able to tell ruffle where it happened to get a time. Then the next time I looked up I saw the one hotel sign that told me we were turning onto to hospitals street. And then the next thing I knew we were in the ER lot and my boyfriend is out the car opening my door I take one step out and leave the other one on the seat. He asks me if I can walk and I say no. He runs to get a nurse with a wheelchair. Meanwhile I felt like I was going to take a shit so when I feel I felt my baby's head with a lot of hair and gunk on I soon realized I was the baby and I had another contraction so I pushed and pushed and my baby came while my boyfriend was probably ten feet away. He gets to me first after hearing the baby cry and wipes his fast off and he cries again. With in that three nurses arrive and I get helped into to wheelchair with him and rushed into the ER night guards holding the doors for us. We get rushed to a back room waiting for us they have my boyfriend cut the umbilical cord. One set of nurses has my baby which and that point being in the cold and rain he was blue. Then a set of nurses get me on a gurney and they strip me, then ask if I wanted to keeps the clothes we said no. So the entire time I'm freezing and I start to shack but I keep asking if my baby is ky and my nurses keep saying yes while they're yelling for warm blankets for us. (Found out when I got to postpartum that my baby was 94/96 in body temperature and I was 93 in body temperature.) Next the OB on call is there then the nurses roll me over on my back so he can get my placenta out which came out in to and I had no tear which shock everyone. Sill the entire time I kept asking if my baby is ky which the nurses said yes and wondering where my boyfriend was the nurses would pull him out and ask him questions. The only I was really asked was my name and birthday. My baby boy came at 2:40AM weighing 6lbs 13oz and 19.5 inches long. He was taken up first to labor and delivery and then me a few minutes after. When we got to labor and delivery he was taken to the nursery and I was wheeled into a delivery room from registration. Which that was fun because what woman pays attention to the clock when there in so much pain to tell they when their water breaks and when the baby came. I got asked multiple times to where I was looking at my boyfriend who gave a good guess of a time when I told I'm where it happened on the road and tell the nurse the time and they still asked me so I repeated what he said cause it sounded right to me. Then I was able after being registered to get pain medication to help and then we had to wait a little bit then got move to postpartum which now it's 4am in morning and we were still waiting for the nurses to bring our son. He came in the room with us a little bit after 4:30am.

Here's our little baby boy, Koda Lynx, born at 2:40 am on November 13, 2017.

I love my little guy.
