Do you think that children that commit murder should receive a smaller sentence?

I was watching a video about how a 13 year old boy brutally murdered a 4 year old boy and how it’s been years later and he believes he should be let off because he’s “changed”. I also saw a story about a 16 year old girl who was prostituting herself and shot and killed one of her clients. She was sentenced to life in prison and I saw that many people were upset about that since she was with a grown man that paid her for sex and all. What do y’all think? Do believe that people who murder others should be let off after a couple years of therapy or should they be treated the same as any other murderer?
