Net Neutrality?

Question

So apparently America is in the middle of a vote to either keep or get rid of net neutrality? 
Is there ANY pros to getting rid of it? Everything I can find leads me to believe this would be bad for our economy, and I don’t like my access to information being that controlled. 
What are y’alls thoughts on it?

Way to screw everyone over for good honestly. That’ll be the end of America 🤷‍♂️
If I lived there, I’d probably just have to quit my uni/college course. My degree would be pretty useless in a place where I have to pay to get my UNPAID work visible enough to get a job to BE paid.
Small businesses, and artists and others who rely on platforms to promote themselves would fail, completely, and some of the biggest businesses in the world started out small. It’s destroying opportunities for everyone.

It would fuck everything tbh. Nothing good comes out of it except rich people getting richer. This is the second time (or third, I'm not sure) it is being argued to get rid of it. It's stupid af. Those old greedy rich men should get kicked out. It just makes me mad.

literally has no good benefits for the common American. it essentially make it so companies can charge you to pay for certain sites. oh you want to use your Hulu account that you're paying for, well to bad you payed for the Hulu package. so good news for big internet companies, bad for basically everyone else, even big name companies like Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, Google, and Amazon would take a major hit.

I’m all for net neutrality. I was researching it wondering why anyone would be against it...  I read this article about how the internet has been around for 25 years or whatnot and its never been an issue, and the net neutrality regulations (which is a fairly recent rollout) just ensured facebook, apple, amazon and netflix paid a few million to support it; in return getting billions of dollars worth of bandwidth for free. That we all pay for via our ISPs, hence the high internet costs. And that getting rid of net neutrality regulations wont change anything because the ISPs would not do that or they’d lose money.

Now I have no idea if this is true but it was interesting. Either way, I hope sites are never purposefully slow or having us pay extra to access certain material. That would cause a revolt from everyone- I mean why would they do that??

None I can see. The most common reason to be in favor of it is it will create better servers, but that’s weak since it basically encourages monopolies which have less incentive to improve things for consumers.

and yet there are still people that say that trump isnt turning america into a modern nazi germany? we are the land of the free not the land of the free...except for you dont have full access to internet, itll be almost impossible for you to get a good education if you arent a millionaire, if you arent rich then your nothing. etc. this is all so ridiculous im almost ashamed to let a child be born into this life right now.
