If a name you loved had a negative connotation would you still use it? 
I like the name Marah but it means bitterness and that bothers me. 😩

I know not many people care about name meanings these days but I do. I think what we name our children is important because we are literally speaking that meaning over them every time we say their name. I have struggled with it occasionally because I found a couple I loved the sound of too but had horrible meanings. That being said, I think looking at the why behind the meanings helps too as sometimes we think something is negative, but looking at the roots we can see so much more and it’s not necessarily a bad thing

I think it’s pretty, i would still use it. Sooo many names just mean nothing at all these days anyway

One of my favorite names is Leah and it means "weary"...... 😐 still probably going to use it someday if I ever have a girl but come on!

I know a truly lovely marah. This history of the name as well does not mean a bitter personality, but that the circumstances leading up to the child were solemn (bitter)
