What does this mean?

So my boyfriend and I have been together a year. I'm helping him raise his daughter. We are in a serious relationship. See each other every day, have conversations about the future plans and houses and such. Well the other night I was feeling lousy. We had taken his daughter to see santa and I promised her that if she was good with santa I would buy her pretzel nuggets from the mall. So we did and I have an allergy toward pumpkins. And they just happened to mix these pretzel nuggets in the pumpkin spice batter so I went into a reaction and we rush home to get a Benadryl so I could sleep it off a bit. I slept for about an hour and he woke me up because he said I was gasping. And wanted to be sure I was breathing lol Well I laid back down and almost dozed back off and I noticed him playing with my ring finger on my left hand. I just pretended I was asleep. But he kept playing with it rubbing his index finger around it and kinda Using his thumb on the underside of it. He's talked about marriage and how he wanted to be with me for the rest of his life and hinted at the store the other day, we just happened to walk by the jewelry dept and the song "put a ring on every finger" by LoCash came on and he said it was a sign.. could be be ready? Or am I reading to much into it?
