Cousins with the same name?

My sister just had a baby. She and I grew up EXTREMELY close. We’ve always been best friends. She’s 28 and I’m 23 now. The last two years, our relationship has been very strained and we’ve hardly seen each other. She didn’t even tell me she was pregnant until she was about 6 months along. Well I am also pregnant. She just had her baby and sent my parents and I a group text introducing the baby. It’s the same first name my husband has already picked out for our little girl due in a month.
I hope our relationship isn’t strained forever. And they’d be cousins with the same name, but husband and I have already decided on this name. She didn’t know we had chosen it. 
My question is should we change it or keep it the same?

Eh, I'd still keep the name, because
1) I'm like that, I don't compromise, it would bother me.
2) I hardly ever see my cousins as an adult, even as a kid I saw them maybe two or three times a year, and now maybe once or twice, so what difference does it make. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'd change it.  mt sister and i are real close.  and even like that i would never use the same name.  middle name maybe, but not first name

In my opinion I would change it...it’s going to cause bigger problems between you guys....I had a little girl named her Kinsley and my cousin was having a boy but she lost her penis and came out a girl and named her kinzie 🙄 now when they are together they don’t know who’s name is being called....it’s a mess tbh and everyone was like why did you name your baby so close to hers I was like omg really mine was born 4 months before and I knew mine was a girl!!!!! Her was supposed to be a boy!! Aggregating!!

There’s no reason for you to change your name.
There’s 8 million jessica’s and Amanda’s  in the world  ... whether they’re cousins or not is irrelevant

I wouldn’t. I’m having he same issue. My cousin had a boy (who unfortunately didn’t survive) named Finley and my husband and i are naming our little guy finnegan. Some family have very strong opinions that we should change our name but i refuse. I’ve always wanted finnegan and I’m not going to adjust my life choices for someone i see 2 times (if that) a year

I had my son in 2016 and my sister had her daughter in 2017. I named my son Bailor and she named her daughter Taylor. I really hated how she made them rhyme. Personally I would change the names you have picked out.

if it were my sister, i would change it. especially if you hope to become close again one day..plus your parents would have two granddaughters with the same name, which would be confusing!

Eh idk. If it were my sister, I would change it. But, my husbands cousin who he hasn’t talked to in years has a son named Roman. When we found out we were pregnant with a boy, we picked Roman for his name. We later found out that his cousin’s sons name was roman and we didn’t change it. Sometimes when a name sticks, you can’t just change it. Do what you feel is right
