Parts of mucus plug already?

Question

I'm 31 weeks 6 days and last night I wiped and saw mucus like stuff it looked like a booger but it was super thick. I'm guessing this is a piece of my mucus plug? 
Isn't it too early for that?

you can lose your mucus plug at any time honestly, you can also lose it more than once. its not really a giant indicator of anything honestly. if it had a little blood in it or a pink tint that is called your bloody show, and that just means your cervix is at least slowly dialating. but even after losing your mucus plug it could still be weeks before any baby is to come.
