Clomid?

So I had an appointment with the doctor today and told her we have been trying for over a year now and no baby yet. She made an appointment for me to talk about maybe starting clomid since I don’t seem to be cycling at all and started me on progesterone to force a cycle. Am I selfish to try clomid? How many of you have tried it? Success stories? I already have children but I want one more before I’m “too old”. Just need somewhere safe to talk about this.
