What did you start with? Etc? Did you make your own foods? Brands you used?

babies don't need solids before 6 months. we will start with baby led weaning, if for some reason that doesn't work out I will make his purees. but before 6 months babies need SOLE nutrition from breast milk only

apple puree made wit water at home. she was curious about food watching everyone eat. i would give her a taste of stuff around 3 m like dip my finger in avocado and let her lick it thats it till 41/2 she got teeth in and wanted to really bite stuff i gave her a spoon she put it right in her mouth lol swallowed the first litte spoon full and every week we try a new food

we started  at 5 months but he wasn't gaining weight so we had these 2 stupid hours...for example nurse at 4, cereal with breast milk at 5, nurse at 6.  We now do a wide variety at 9 months and some we make (magic bullet and ninja things for the win) but we also buy some

We did BLW and just offered whatever we were eating at mealtimes. He mostly played with it for a few months so I’m not sure what his first food actually was. 🙈

We started with purées on her six month birthday. It's recommended to start between 4-6 months, but if you google something line "signs of readiness" (to start solids), you will have a better idea of exactly when. My sense after researching was that closer to six months seemed ideal.  
There is a big "to do" about arsenic being in baby foods. Some moms are making their own baby food. The problem is arsenic is found naturally in soil and so it gets into ALL food (even "adult" food). So I went to the Clean Label Project website and found "report cards" on various brands to see which were best. Target's up and up brand and also Beechnut were closer towards the top and Gerber was closer to the bottom.

I know everyone in the world says 6 months but I started my baby at early 5 mo. He was being terribly fussy and I had tried everything . So I decided to try some rice cereal and eventually baby food. He was so much happier and content . Baby’s grow at different rates. Watch for the signs baby’s show u what they need.
