graco pack and play/ napper

so we just assembled this and plan to use it for the bassinet in our bedroom for the first few months. I was excited to have the changing station / napper attachment but then just read the warnings and it says you cannot put baby in the bassinet while the changer is attached? did I read that correctly? if so that kind of defeats the purpose as it's kind of a pain to take it on and off in the middle of the night. I was hoping to have an all in one station for night time sleeping/ changing.
