Induction, Nitrous?

Helllo.
Okay for starters I’m severely uncomfortable with being induced.. i don’t really have a choice here but okay. That’s one. I only have a day to get it done and my cervix is actually closed and up very high. I went in today with an appointment for them to strip the membranes and that couldn’t happen. So I’m still stuck at square one. What are some things i can do between tomorrow and Friday morning. Please help. I’d rather avoid all medical inductions. Please please please.
Also if all else fails I plan on using my hypnobabies training and also wanting to do nitrous.. does anyone have any experience with it?

I personally think nitrous is useless. I felt no benefit from it during dental procedures and felt it would be the same in a much higher stress/painful situation. That’s true for most anti anxiety medication for me. Give it a try if you want to as lots of people love it.

Nitrous provides a distraction but don't expect it to do much else. But- distraction gives you a focus other than the pain. I got through labour with only nitrous. I also only had a 6 hour labour. If your labour is a long one don't feel like a failure if you take the epidural. When you get induced your body is not ready so labour is even harder. Take all the wonders of modern medicine there are. Good luck :)

The usual walking, sex, labor cookies, evening p oil. Definitely consult your OBGYN before you try anything that is considered controversial like castor oil.

I tried nitrous when I was induced. It was slightly distracting but it doesn't actually lessen the pain just sort of takes your mind off it. I ended up with an epidural and it was fabulous.

I was induced and it was extremely painful. I got an epidural because I was about to pass out.
