we tried homemade teething crackers bc she LOVES the store bought ones but they're so expensive, have virtually no nutritional value, and we had cereal leftover tgat wasn't going to be eaten any other way. if you haven't tried the store bought kind yet, I would get a box just to see how your LO does and see what the texture/consistency is actually like with your own eyes. the recipe I tried came out hard as a rock. it was not good at all, I tossed it all and it was time wasted. fail for us. now we just keep the store bought kind around only for the diaper bag and restaurant outings. keeps them special  (and cheap since she doesn't want them every day 🙄)

if you are only just starting to wean i wouldnt be going directly to solids. start with mashed foods that are almost liquid. you can buy a teething toy for the meantime?
