Baby measuring under the 10th percentile
So we had an ultrasound done at 36.2 (monday) because baby has been breech and we were then scheduled for a c section a couple days before due date in the event baby stayed breech
We found out baby was approximately 5 pounds at that point and were scheduled to come in again at 37.2 to check growth
Mind you the ultrasound doctor couldn’t answer any of our questions of why or how off is baby in regards to weight
This app says only by 7 ounces so I was puzzled as to why this is such a big deal as everyone’s baby grows different
Doctor called today and said he’s not comfortable leaving baby in and has scheduled us for the 13 instead of the 29 for our c section if baby doesn’t grow above the 10th percentile mark by our next scan
He said baby has a better chance of growing off of breastmilk rather then inside me
He also said he doesn’t like taking babies out prior to 38 weeks due to lungs possibly not being ready but if there’s no growth there’s really no option
However we would only be off by a couple days to the 38 week mark
So basically we are in a waiting game to see what monday brings
I immediately started feeling sick after I got off the phone feeling as though my body has failed me and has stopped helping my baby
Making it this far in our pregnancy has been a challenge in itself and I’m thankful we have come so far but now that this is happening the reality is setting in that we won’t be making it to our finish line
How many others mamas have experienced their baby not meeting growth expectations and when their baby came out how accurate were the measurements compared to birth measurements?
They most frustrating part at this point is lack of answers
Baby is perfectly healthy aside from this, not one thing has came up wrong with baby it’s all been my own body being a jerk til now
Doesn’t help being full of emotions and hormones while processing what’s about to possibly go down after doing everything I should of done all along
