Problems with mother in law

Hi girls! I don't know if it fits in adult relationships, if not, I'm sorry.

I really need some advice about this subject.

My boyfriend's mother doesn't hate me, but she is extremely jealous of the way my boyfriend treats me. Just to summarise: After taking a lot of her small mean jokes, she made me feel like trash calling me a retard. She was talking to her other son in the kitchen but I could listen and she knew that.

After that I didn't want to come to her house anymore and my boyfriend had my back. But suddenly he doesn't have my back anymore and kind of don't care if I feel uncomfortable around her. After all, around him she treats me like a princess.We live in a different country now, but I'm really afraid of how fragile I feel that my relationship is with the possibility of her doing something to break us up or something like that (he believes in absolutely everything she says). I'm not sure if a guy who doesn't support me it's right for me.
