So today we explained to my MIL that we weren't going to have a birthday party for our son. (He turns 2 on the 21st) We tried to plan something but every time we picked a date and time everyone complained about them being busy or having other plans. So we decided that we would just have people come over whenever works for them and give him a gift or just hang out. My MIL actually told me that I am being a lazy anf bad mom by not planning a full birthday party for my son. I said with it being so close to Christmas and him not really remembering it that it wasn't a big deal. We as in my husband, daughter, son and I were just going to do something special. Like maybe go to an indoor playground. She then got mad at me saying I am taking away from her having fun with her grandbaby on his birthday. My husband then told her well we do have something to celebrate we are pregnant. she just said ok. But how could you not have a party?! That's just so selfish. Given that I miscarried in June we thought she might be as excited as us.
