What to expect after delivery?

When the baby is here, What should I expect while being at the hospital?? I’m feeling nervous about not knowing what to do. Any advice?

it really varies from hospital to hospital. You'll need to speak with your specific provider and your specific hospital as to what to expect from the hospital. have you done a hospital tour yet of the labor and delivery unit?

Depending on how your delivery goes. Csection, your stay will be longer. Monitor you for a few days. They do hearing test on Baby and circumcision if you want. Lactation consultant comes in and helps you and Baby get going on BF if you want.
Vaginal is a bit shorter if everything goes well. You basically just hang out while they monitor you And make sure everything’s ok with you and Baby before letting you go home.

They kept me for 24 hours. A lactation consultant came and checked baby’s latch. They took the baby to give some shots and first bath while I got to nap. They basically just monitor you and baby until it’s time to go home. That’s all assuming you have a vaginal birth with no complications. If you have a c-section or complications, I’m sure your experience would be different

I agree with the previous poster. Contact your hospital to schedule a tour of the birth center. I took a birth center tour back at 10w and it completely relaxed my nerves
