Has anyone been induced due to high blood pressure? I went to by 38 week appointment this morning & was quite surprised when the nurse asked me if I felt okay when taking my blood pressure. She’s normally very quiet because it’s a manual & she has to listen in the stethoscope. I told her I felt fine. She said my blood pressure was up & if it didn’t go down by the time I was done with the doctor that they would be admitting me. She asked if I had any swelling or headaches & I said yes because my feet were swelling where I couldn’t wear my socks anymore because they were cutting into me & the past week I’ve been getting bad migraines. I just thought it was stress & from babysitting my sisters kids so I didn’t think it was anything serious. I gave them a urine sample & the doctor came right in. She checked my blood pressure & got the same reading. So she checked my cervix, measured my belly & listened to the baby’s heartbeat. Everything else is fine so she says to lay down on my left side for a few minutes. They check my blood pressure again & it went down enough for them to be comfortable to send me home but I have to go back Monday morning just to check my blood pressure & if it’s high then she’ll admit me.

Has anyone else had this happen? I’m a first time mom so I’m worried enough as it is.
