How to track ovulation?

Recently diagnosed with PCOS. I’m TTC & just don’t know shit about this. So if I never have periods can I track my ovulation with an ovulation test still or??? Sorry if this is stupid. Please be kind I just never thought I’d have to try so hard to have a family

You could visit with an obgyn for preconception counseling. They can guide you with ovulation testing or prescribe medications to induce periods/ovulation. I went on a pill to regulate mine, my cycles were 70+ days before I went on the pill and I wasn’t getting any clear positive ovulation on the tests. I took the pill for 3 months and they told me to start trying right away after stopping, as ideally you will have 3 month of normal periods after. Well, I did and I’m now 8 weeks pregnant! Never thought it would happen so quick for me.

I used saliva testing because the OPKs didn’t work for me and I didn’t want to buy tests all the time. But I do ovulate. It’s possible you’re not with the long periods.

If your pcos is untreated I wouldn’t recommend ovulation tests. For one you’ll go through a lot with super long cycles and two with your body trying multiple times and failing to ovulate you have increased levels of lutenizing hormone in your blood. If you have the patience purchase a basal body thermometer and track your temperature. Using that is mainly to look for a pattern but if you do ovulate it’s the best way to tell. Good luck.
