So, if I'm pregnant this month (af due the 23rd), how soon do I book an obgyn appt? My DH gets insurance sometime within the first couple weeks of the new year, but is that too long to wait? Should I apply for Medicaid until his insurance kicks in?

Most OBs won’t even see you until you are 8 to 12 weeks along so it’s quite possible you won’t even be able to get in until his new insurance kicks in anyway. Depends on your provider.

well when u get your positive (fingers crossed) you'll book an appt for them to confirm the pregnancy with blood work immediately. they'll do the first test then retest you 48 hours later. depending on how results look, they'll tell u when u need to come back for your next appt.

From my experience, they’re usually booked out 2-3 weeks anyway. And the doctor likes to see you a little further along(7 weeks )  that way they can see clearly on the ultrasound, and make sure it’s not an early miscarriage. ( that’s what my doctor told me.) so no worries in waiting. I was the same as you I called immediately and was paranoid when I couldn’t get in right away but no worries ! Just book as soon as you have insurance
