Cervix is 1.1 cm at 22 wks...

I went in for a special ultrasound yesterday because during my anatomy scan they discovered I had a circumvallate placenta, and they wanted to check and make sure that was all it was and not anything worse.

Backtracking really quick, two weeks ago my doctor sent me into L&D; bc I had been cramping for an entire week with no relief. Turns out I was having some preterm contractions. They checked my cervix length and it was 3 cm. They said 3cm was a little short, but not too short.

Okay fast forward back to yesterday, the ultrasound tech said he needed to check my cervix since it had already been measuring short at L&D.; After the ultrasound they told me to stick around to talk to their high risk OB. He broke the news that my cervix was 1.1 cm. I was offered two options. A progesterone pill that I shove up my hoo ha and it’s supposed to strengthen my cervix, or surgery to close my cervix. I chose the pill, and basically they will monitor me twice a week to make sure it doesn’t get any shorter. If it does, then I’ll immediately be sent in for the surgery. Anyways. Freaking out bc I’ve been having dreams for weeks that my baby was going to be a preemie and then this news. 😩
