How much puree?

How many ounces of puree do you feed your baby per meal? I posted this anonymously because I feel like puree feeders are the new formula feeders and we're being criticized for not doing baby-led weaning...

First, if feeding puréed works for you and baby, you do you! BLW isn’t for everyone. It doesn’t work for us.
Anyways! For breakfast my 8 month old has about 2 oz of cereal and fruit purée. She’s not a big breakfast eater.
For lunch she has about 2-4 oz of a vegetable purée or yogurt.
For dinner she has about 3-4 oz of a vegetable/fruit purée.
But some days, like yesterday, she ate a lot. 3 oz for breakfast, 4 oz for lunch, 4 oz for dinner.

We usually do the square Gerber cups. Sometimes she will only eat like 1/4 and sometimes the whole thing. On average she eats half of it. But we also give her finger snacks then the purée. So if we didn’t do the snacks then she would probably eat the whole thing. I just stop when she loses interest or gets too squirmy so I assume she’s done. Also don’t let anyone shame you! I’m sure you’re doing a great job! Every baby is different. I tried BLW and it was a nightmare. Now that she’s older and able to feed herself better I’ve introduce a couple finger foods and she’s gotten much better and we are expanding to more foods. Do what works best for you and your little one.

my girl has two meals a day. cereal and puree fruit probably about 3oz? and then a veggie/fruit puree at dinner roughly 2 to 3 0z. she also has mum mum's in the afternoon.

I froze my purées in ice cube trays and she’ll eat 2 ice cubes with a little formula to smooth it out at eat meal. Right now we are only doing 2 meals a day.

Our son gets 3 tbsp multi grain cereal or oatmeal (happy baby brand I did A TON of research on this and liked this one best) plus 3.5-4 oz purée for breakfast and dinner, and about 3.5-4 oz of just purée for lunch. I totally agree with you on the Mom shaming. But he’s 8 months and doesn’t have 1 tooth yet so I’m way too paranoid about choking to try real solids. He’s happy and healthy, that’s all that matters to me! That said we’ve stuck to strictly organic brands (plum, earths best, happy baby, beechnut).

Baby is 7 months and gets about one full jar or pouch plus a little extra in either the form of an actual solid or yogurt per feeding

My daughter will eat anything from 3 quarters a jar to a whole jar in one feed (Beechnut food)
