It depends on how big your baby ends up being. My oldest was 6lbs 15oz and he drowned in newborn. My youngest was 8lbs 12oz and would have been okay in 0-3, but the newborn fit him for a few weeks.

Depends on the store, Carter’s run small. My son was only 6lbs 15 oz. he could barely fit newborn. The clothes was super tight on him. I bought him 0-3 it fit much better.

I only bought 0-3 when my daughter was born. She was 8lbs 1 oz and 21 inches and drowned in all her sleepers and onesies... I would suggest getting some newborn sleepers just in case. I ended up getting her some from Walmart so that she had something that fit her half decent.

My son was swimmming in newborn clothes when he was born. So 0-3 definitely would’ve been too big

If you think your baby might be smaller in size get some newborns. I am a thin person and my husband is normal size but I was measuring small so I actually needed preemie clothes for a couple weeks. She was 6lbs 5oz.

I would have some of both sizes on hand. The doctor had predicted my daughter was bigger, but on a whim (the day I went into labor!) I had picked up some newborn onesies. Thank goodness I did because she was only 6 pounds! I would be prepared for both but don’t buy too much of either til baby comes.

Depends on the baby. My first was in newborn for months. My second was out of newborn before month 2.

I had both but my baby only wore newborn size for about 3 weeks. Some stuff she didn't even get to wear. Most of the newborn stuff I got were presents from my shower. So if you haven't had your shower yet maybe wait to see what you get. I ended up only actually buying size 0-3 clothes and up.
