For now I’m just posting our journey because I think many are searching for answers of some sort. I know I am. So I will keep you all posted as we move along.

We’ve been trying to conceive now ever since we got married April 2015. So over 2.5yrs. I have a son (8yrs old) from a previous relationship. All of my test were good. We did a lot of testing starting with a RE who basically told us our only chances to conceive was

IVF

because hubs count was at 2Mil. Well my words to him were “We are going to trust God in this because we want to conceive naturally”. Well, my Mom works for a urologist in our home state, so he told us he would test him for free. He did all of the blood work, his LH & FSH hormones were a little elevated but not by much. So the next step was finding out why. So my Mom’s boss referred us to a doctor here in Houston. Larry Lipshultz a world renown fertility urologist.

Upon meeting with Mr. L, he discovered my hubs had really bad varicocele in both testicles. As they were doing his ultrasound (I’m surely not in the medical field) but I saw them before they told us that was them. That day he did another semen analysis & his count had went up to 3.9Mil. He was on and off vitamins, so not sure if that helped or not. Dr. L suggested a varicocelectomy & hubs is now schedule for surgery Jan. 4, 2018. We couldn’t do it sooner because his insurance was horrible, so we found one on the marketplace. It cost us $375/mth but he has $0 deductible and only a 20% coinsurance.

Now, my brother-n-law, my husband identical twin. His story is similar. He was married to my former snl & they had been together 3yrs. No Baby. After testing the doctor found that he had varicocele causing low count & numbers. His wife at the time had a cyst on her ovaries. But she had checked out of their marriage before anything could be done. She left him Nov. 2015! Needless to say, they both had surgery Feb. 2016. He had the varicocelectomy. She had a cyst removed. She ended up pregnant by a guy the following month (they weren’t divorced yet) & my brother-n-love waited. He met his now wife a month after the divorce was final in June 2016. They remained celibate until they married 9/23/17. So all together he was celibate for 20 months. His now wife had been celibate 7yrs!

So not even a month later, him and my now snl conceived. We found out 11/11!!! I believe that boosted my husbands confidence and his desire to have the surgery done. God is so good though y’all. He is faithful! I’ll keep y’all updated on our story as it happens!

I was able to go to their ultrasound this week & snapped this shot! ❤️

Me and my love!

Them two ❤️

My little family. Everyone thinks my son is his 😍

UPDATE #1:

The doctor found 3 large veins on the left side and 4 large veins on his right side! He goes in tomorrow 1/24 for his post-op appt. Now we wait until April for his follow-up SA to see how surgery worked for us! I’m praying to be able to give an update that we are pregnant before that date! April 4th will be our 3yr anniversary! ❤️ The doctor did say before they rolled him in to surgery that we should be able to conceive naturally once the veins are tied off! 🙌🏽 My snl will be 14 weeks this week. Gosh, time is flying!

UPDATE #2:

Hubs 3 months post-op follow up showed some improvements in his sperm parameters. His total count went from 3.4Mil/mL to 5.05Mil/mL, the total motile sperm went from .90Mil/mL to 1.01/Mil/mL. It’s not a huge jump, but the doctor said he is moving in the right direction. He suggested

IUI

(needs 3Mil/mL for good chance) towards the end of the year once we see his 9 month results, to be honest, we may just skip his 6 month follow-up and wait for his 9mth. This journey is so up and down y’all. Our prayers are for a miracle conception. This week has been hard...Losing my aunt 4/5/18 who raised my Mom, hubby losing his job the day after 4/6/18, we celebrated our 3yr anniversary on 4/4 (the last wedding my Aunt attended)...And his follow-up SA results on 4/6/18. I just feel defeated at times, but my hope is still alive. I will continue to update you all as times passes.

UPDATE #3: (3/4/19)

It’s been 1yr and 2mths since my husbands surgery. No conception. We are leaving conception in God’s hands. No

IVF

, no treatments, no medicines. If May 2019 comes rolling around & we haven’t conceived it will be 4yrs of waiting. I’m finally at peace. Genuine peace. God is doing so many greats things in our lives. It took a lot and almost losing my marriage for me to get here. Go to my blog for more of the story. www.thewell-journey.com “Lesson Learned”. Trust me ladies...It’s worth surrendering. I hope to one day post that “Miracle” update, but my heart is at a good place. My God still knows what’s best. Our story isn’t over & neither is yours. I pray our story helps someone see Jesus in it all.

Update 11/1/20

It’s been 5+yrs since we started TTC. Recently on 10/15/20, my husband came to me and told me that we could start IVF treatment! We hadn’t did InvoCell bc the doctor wasn’t willing to do what we were asking for with 2 embryo transfer. It’s been a very long road. I’m thankful to God that my husband has decided to officially move forward. He was so against it for so long. I’m expecting a Spring transfer Lord spare. God has shown me IVF twice & for my husband to come to me and tell me we can go that route. I don’t understand why this is part of our story. I thought we weren’t going down the IVF route, but God says differently. This week I plan to do my 3 day bloodwork to head into our first consultation. We found a clinic in AZ, it’s 15hrs away but their cost makes sense & the doctor is willing to work with what God showed us with a 2 embryo transfer. I will keep you all posted.
