The solution to "gassy tummy"(?)

I had no idea this was a thing! Apparently you put a syringe type thing in the baby's butt and it pulls the air out?
Anyone ever heard of this before? Not sure what to make of this, seems a little odd to me....

We were advised against putting anything in our son's butt. We were told its so easy to cause damage to their rectum that they don't recommend even taking his temperature that way anymore.
