My 2 year old has been super clingy. He’s 2 in about 6 weeks. It’s been happening a little while. He’s not clingy when he’s home with us. But when dad is gone he repeats dada dada dada. Or when dad drops us off somewhere he cries or when dad and him drop me off at work he cries. And my husband just texted me from home saying my son heard the door across the hall and thought it was me. When he discovered it wasn’t he started crying and freaking out.

He is in full time daycare with frequent long weekends at home. BUT we each have an older child, 7 and 5 from previous relationships. And they visit on the weekends, but only every other.

Is this a phase that is typical for his age or should I be bringing this up at his check up in January?
