UTI question

Ive never had a UTI before just recently, so wondering if you can answer a question for me.

My doc put me on 100mg nitrofurantoin for 7 days to treat my UTi. I just finished the antibiotics.

I no longer have blood in urine, pain during urination, or burning, etc.

However, I do have a general discomfort in my lower abdomen. Its not sharp pain, or anything like that. The discomfort is a very mild, generalized pain where I assume the bladder is. It feels like a gentle swelling if that makes any sense at all (?)

Is this normal since that area was just dealing with an infection? Have you ever experienced this after your UTI meds were over, while your body recovered? I unfortunately lost my health insurance coverage, and my new plan doesn’t start until 1/1/18. Going to the doctor the first time to diagnose my UTI was incredibly incredibly expensive, and so was the medicine without insurance obviously. I’m trying to avoid going to the doctor until after January 1, but I will if I need to, because health is always #1.

Just wanted to get ideas and opinions.
