Gripe water?

My baby is only3 weeks, but recently she’s been kind of constipated. She only poops 1 or 2 times within a 24 hour period. When she has to go she gets extremely fussy and looks uncomfortable. Would gripe water work? And can I use it for her? I’m a first time mom so I have no idea

Breastfed babies don’t need to go everyday and 1-2 times a day for a formula fed baby is fine!

I formula fed too. If she’s uncomfortable, try sticking her bottom in warm water. It’ll help relax her so she can let it go. Used to do that with my daughter when she’d get backed up.

My formula fed guy used to poop once a day, or every 2 days. We changed his formula and now he poops everyday. Also gas drops worked better for us than gripe water did.

my son will go days without pooping but as they get older they don't poop everyday but if she's absolutely constipated give her tummy time after a warm bath and after tummy time roll her over and move her legs like she's walking ECT and rub her tummy usually helps but if she's old enough to eat give her some prunes

even formula fed babies do not have to go every single day they can skip a day likely the baby just has gas try burping the baby more frequently while feeding and after feeding. unless the baby is having solid form poops there's nothing to worry about you're only surmising that she's constipated. if she truly is constipated contact the pediatrician and look into changing the formula.
