Can this be a tongue tie ?

Im very concerned, I've recently noticed that my baby only sticks half of her tongue out. I never really realized until my mother started saying that her tongue was wide and that she only sticks half of it out. Sadly it's Saturday and I can't take her to her pediatrician today.

Having that piece of flesh under your tongue is very normal and supposed to be there. My son had a tongue tie and what that means is that little piece of flesh is actually extended all the way to the tip of their tongue and it doesn't allow them to stick their tongue outside of their mouths. I'm not a doctor but from how my sons tongue looked, your little ones tongue looks fine. If it isn't affecting her eating (which is a huge sign) or bothering her in anyway I would leave it alone. Some people just don't have long tongues 🤷🏻‍♀️

my Ped told me that if the tongue can come out past the lip and there is no problem with latching it's nothing to worry about now. Thier little bodies change do much the first year. now every baby is different and so is every Dr. ... But hopefully this helps easy your worry some

Both of my children had a tongue tie when they were born, and now that I think about it I’m fairly certain that my siblings may have also, because they both had slight speech impediments when they were young. 
The doctors told me that it MIGHT affect speech later on, but the main concern is usually the initial ability to feed. 
My son had no problem, but my daughter did. I ended up having both of theirs clipped because I didn’t want to risk the speech impediment as they are developing. Although it is definitely up to you as a parent. Sometimes if it isn’t too severe it will stretch over time and diminish, so it isn’t always necessary to clip it. 
I found that with both children it made breastfeeding extremely painful, and so that was also a huge reason why I opted to get the minor surgery for both of them.
