question.

so my doctor asked me if I was ready for my baby.. and I said no lol. She said you need to get ready. Then told me I would be delivered at 39 weeks..Why is this so normal? I mean it must be routine if she said it like that out of no where. I haven't had any health problems.. opinions?? ftm
