He’s getting pretty old! I worry about him so much for the holidays and throughout the year in general.

A little backstory - I left my house at 15. My dad is an alcoholic and things got too volatile for me to want to stay there. He was homeless with his girlfriend for 3 years after I left.

I joined the military and have lived away from him since the time I was 15. I’ve seen him twice since then, the most recent time was a couple of months ago before my husband and I moved overseas.

I was just wondering if anyone else has parents living alone? He’s pretty much ruined interactions with any family because of his alcoholism and no one likes him, which I 100% understand.

It just, he’s still my dad you know? And I love him. It just worries me is all.
