So I was recently in Mexico for my honeymoon..finally! Apparently I was exposed to the Zika virus. I saw my OBGYN like 3 days after I got back and informed me I should wait at least 6 months before trying to have a baby because my husband was exposed and they aren't sure.how long it takes for it to completely leave a male. My Dr said it's almost 100% sure that neither of us got it but insisted on refilling my birth control! Has this happened to anyone else? I'll admit I was a little bummed because our plan was to start trying when we got back from our honeymoon and I had siked myself up for it. I'm trying to be positive about it and take it as a sign that my husband and I just have more time to ourselves for a little longer. I also know it would be irresponsible to just straight up ignore my my doctor since there are many SO many possible issues that would come along with getting pregnant if I was in fact infected.
