Washing newborn clothes after buyingg ...???

How many Mommies washed Baby's clothes after buying them ?? I'm due in 13 days and I'm just now getting to go through all the clothes and blankets etc from the baby shower.. How serious is it to actually wash before Baby gets here ???

ALWAYS WASH EVERYTHING baby comes into contact with
for that matter ALWAYS WASH EVERYTHING before you wear it yourself
and ALWAYS WASH EVERYTHING such as towels, linens and blankets etc for your household
the items are contaminated with all sorts of nastiness and chemicals

I wash because I worked in retail and let me tell you...Those clothes are NOT clean. Just like when girls go into Victoria’s Secret and try on panties, those panties and clothes been all over the floor. You never know how clean someone’s store is either. I can’t imagine putting all that dirt on a newborn baby.

I wash all clothes before wearing them so it wasn’t even a hesitation for me to wash everything and anything my newborn will be coming into contact with.  If you’ve ever worked in retail, you know how disgusting and dirty clothes and stuff can get before they even get put out onto the floor to be purchased.

You should always wash all new clothes, towels, blankets, etc. not just baby’s but your own. They use some pretty harsh chemicals in the manufacturing process.

I wash EVERYTHING that my son wears. He unfortunately inherited my sensitive skin and breaks out if I put him in clothes that haven't been washed.

I always washed everything, but I did it bc newborns skin is so sensitive and as an adult with sensitive skin I know the pain too well.

I would wash at least the minimum of clothing at least. With my son I washed everything and then when he was born none of the newborn clothes I washed actually fit him so I had to go up to the 0-3 month clothes. I wished I hadn't removed all the tags and washed everything so I could have exchanged some of the clothes.
