Did anyone’s labor only have contractions??

Question

I’m 39w today and I’ve been having stronger, “different” contractions than the BH I’m used to. No MP has been seen when wiping and no water breakage.. just the contractions that seem to be coming more frequent as the day goes on. 
Wondering if anyone else’s labor, prior to going to the hospital, didn’t include their water breaking or MP being seen?? 
FTM so I have no idea what to expect!

With my first I never noticed losing my mucus plug and with my 2nd my water never broke.

I was in labor for two days before my water broke and I never lost my mucus plug either.!

I waited and waited thinking maybe my water would break and I didn’t want to go in for yet another “false alarm”..
So when my contractions because very painful I went into the ER.
I checked in at 4cm!

I asked my obgyn about my MP yesterday because I'm 39 weeks and haven't lost mine. She actually told me that a lot of women don't notice when they do! Good luck, I would call and ask about the contractions!

I’ve always had my water break at the hospital.
Never prior.
Only contractions and no mucus plug missing either. I’ve only seen the mucus plug thingy on here

Did anyone’s labor only have contractions??
