Advice Needed

My boyfriend of 3 years and I were planning on going to California for our last spring break before we graduate school this year to visit my family. However, we go to different colleges and they overlap by 4 days. Originally he was okay with me staying with my cousin and aunt for the week after he left, but now he wants me to come home with him because he claims “he doesn’t want to fly alone”. Ive even offered coming home 2 or 3 days earlier than I originally planned, but he shuts down every time we discuss it and says that “he’ll stay home and work and I should go completely alone”. Any ideas on why he is acting this way repeatedly every time we have a conversation? The whole trip is a gift to him and I, so money isn’t an issue. I’m staying longer so I can see my family members, but he doesn’t want me to stay.
