Keeps saying he splurged on Christmas

So due to us living in different states we haven’t exchanged Christmas gifts yet. He arrives tomorrow but keeps saying how he splurged. The thing is he works part time and I am a full time student and rely on savings/my parents. Ik he got stuff on Black Friday and cyber Monday and that he got stuff with like a free gift. It’s just at the same point I feel bad. I also got things on sale too but without it I would have spent $300+. Is this a good gift I got a vineyard vines pullover, travel shave/face kit, 2 pairs of socks with funny designs, a T-shirt to my college which has is the Southern tide brand (thought this was unique since he always asked for a shirt and likes this brand), a candle and a on flight drink kit thingy (cause we we are long distance and have to fly to each other). What do y’all think been dating 3 years. I just don’t want to feel like he did more than me. We were supposed to do under $150 which he didn’t stick to. I love him but at the same time i don’t want gifts I want to go places and do things!
