How do you put a breastfed baby on a schedule 😩

As of right now I’m just going off of his cues but lately putting him to bed has been such a huge deal 😭 he wakes up every hour- 2 hours

He use to sleep 5-9 hours sometimes during the night

He is 3 months old now and he sleeps on me during the day if I put him down for his naps he is awake instantly. I heard that putting babies on a schedule helps out but how do you do that with a breastfed baby that likes to comfort nurse
