Finally My Turn Trisomy 18 Birth Story
As I sit here in the NICU holding my 4lb 4oz Babygirl that I was told would never make it due to Trisomy 18 and a heart defect I can't help but feel grateful. Yesterday my husband, mother in law and my mother and I arrived at the hospital at 8pm for my scheduled induction. I was 3cm dialated and was able to take the contractions like a champ, until I got to 5cm 60% effaced. That was when I knew I needed the epidural. Once I got it I was ok. I had so much extra fluid (which i knew the entire pregnancy) that my bedding had to be constantly changed once my water was broken. It took me until around 11am to get to 10 cm. I pushed two times and my beautiful Babygirl was out. She has stopped breathing multiple times and is now on a CPAP machine, but she is perfect! Please everyone lift us up in prayer
