Hotdogs ?

Am I not aloud to have hotdogs while pregnant ? I keep hearing mixed things about it .. haven’t had them my entire pregnancy .. currently 29 weeks .. all I want tonight is pigs in a blanket 😭

I’ve eaten hot dogs throughout my entire pregnancy (40+3) & baby is just fine. ☺️ Once in a while is okay but if you eat them all day everyday then I can see how it can cause problems.

The concern is the liquid in the packaging. Similar to the concerns about deli meat. But if they are heated thoroughly it’s fine. that’s one food I don’t really understand why you see it on a “no” list - who eats cold, not cooked hotdogs anyway?! It just causes confusion for ladies.

If heated the risk of listeria goes away. But hotdogs still aren’t a healthy choice. According to the World Health Organization hot dogs and other processed meats cause cancer. I would limit how many hot dogs you eat, especially while pregnant.

I finally caved and ate a bacon wrapped weenie at a party the other night. I haven't had a hotdog since the first month...but there is a case of my favorite kind in my fridge just tempting me.
