Disappointing destinations

Where was somewhere you vacationed that wasn’t all it was cracked up to be?

I have to nominate Mykonos and Hong Kong.

I love Greece & its islands but found Mykonos too crowded, too commercial/touristy and very expensive compared to other islands. It’s beaches were also inferior in quality. The typical Greek hospitality and welcome was also missing.

Hong Kong was too crowded, humid and impersonal and business-y for me. It lacked charm, tradition, and I’d expected better food. For me, Singapore is nicer, although it is also humid 🤷‍♀️ Its zoo is amazing!
