IUD???

Has anyone else had an IUD placed or plans to around 6 weeks postpartum? what was your experience?

I got the Mirena at 6 weeks PP with my son, I felt a little bit of cramping but nothing terrible. I work in reproductive health and I asked one of the providers I work with to put it in and use a paracervical block (numbing injection) on my cervix. I don’t know if it made a difference but it definitely was fine for me.

I had the mirena placed. Honestly it was a more painful insert than before I was pregnant.

I got the paragard at 4 weeks pp and it was pretty uncomfortable but it was quick

I got the Mirena at my 6 week post partum appointment and it was virtually painless. I had one placed when I was 18 before I had a baby and it hurt sooooo bad, but after pushing a baby through my cervix it really didn’t hurt. Only had slight slight cramps for a day. Never even had to take an ibuprofen

I got one at 8 weeks pp. I wasn't healed enough at 6 weeks. It was definitely uncomfortable but quick and then I felt fine immediately after.

I got it awhile back and got pregnant with it inserted. It moved after 2 yrs
