Anyone have trouble sleeping after miscarriage?

Erynn

I had a missed miscarriage back in November. I had been in for two ultrasounds due to some bleeding, one at 6weeks 6days, the other at 8weeks 3days.....both were good. Baby had a strong heartbeat. At my 10week ultrasound, baby no longer had a heartbeat. We were devastated.

I was scheduled to have a d&c; later that week.

It was my first pregnancy.

Because of the bleeding I had experienced, and the fact that it was my first pregnancy and I didn’t know what to expect, I felt like I was on edge the whole time, very nervous/anxious. I paid attention (probably too much) to every symptom, every cramp, etc.

So when I had my d&c; and it was all over with, I slept so good; only because I had relief from the worry. That lasted about a week. Since then I have had so much trouble falling asleep. It’s not every night but it’s definitely becoming a more regular thing. I’m very frustrated by it. I work long hours, most of them on my feet, and you’d think I’d be tired and sleep well when I got home....buuuuuuut noooooo. I’ll use right now as an example.....I’ve been laying in bed for 3 hours....trying to fall asleep. I’ve tried different positions, different pillow combinations, soothing music, chamomile tea.....

Sometimes, just when I’m starting to think I’m comfortable, and relaxed, I feel an anxious feeling in my chest, and my heart seems to pound.

Anyone else experience anything like this? Do you think this is part of dealing with the loss? Is it something I should talk to my doctor about?
