Was your husband against IVF?

Question

Did you go forward or wait until he was ready? If you got pregnant was he so happy for that journey? My husband doesn’t want to do it. We are unexplained infertility.

This is an issue I have been dealing with for a couple of years. My husband has been against the idea of IVF saying he found it to be unnatural. He has been a difficult road but a year and a half after our doctor said it was time to try IVF we are finally going to give it a try. 
I am 35, we have been trying for 4 years and I have low AMH. We have tired More IUIs than I can count. I have done diets, acupuncture and every other old wives tail I have ever heard. I have tried to be patient and give my husband the time to warm up to the idea of IVF but I realize he never is going to. However he talks about how badly he wants a child of his own. 
His problem is this idea of IVF being unnatural. I try to remind him that if it works the baby would still be half him and half me. But he just can't get past that only we have to go through this and why none of our friends have had to go through this. I tell him that they might not be talking about it just like we aren't. People don't start a conversation saying hi I am about to do IVF. Though I wish they did. 
I wish I had words of wisdom for you. It took us a longtime to get to the point that he agreed to do this (still stomping his feet the whole way). I hope your husband comes around and agrees. If it's your only hope then it's what you have to do. And if you are willing to go through the process he should be thanking you for doing it for the two of you. Good luck to you.

My husband was reluctant to do it as he said he found the whole process unnatural.  however he has since met a lot of couples who have been through it and he really came on board. we are about to do FET as first embryo didn't take. I think they have a hard time accepting it just doesn't happen the usual way but hopefully will adjust

my husband didnt want to do ivf he would have just accepted we werent having a baby but he went along with it for me because i wasnt ready to let go. He's glad we did it now (which is good or i would have felt very guilty about the £10k we spent on it!) but he found the whole process weird and unnatural and didnt have much positive to say during the treatment. luckily as soon as we got the positive test he forgot about the treatment and is excited about the baby.

My husband was on board. What is your husbands problem with it? Is it an ego thing and he feels like he can’t get you pregnant? You can’t really move ahead without him. You need that moral support, someone to do injections and embryos save way better than eggs.

My husband was the one that insisted we do it. He didn’t see another option so I️ went with it. I️ was skeptical and nervous about it. Luckily I️ got pregnant the first round.
