Latching or lactation problem?

Question

When I breastfeed my daughter will suck for 45 minutes then wake up 15 minutes later acting like she is hungry. She will be 3 weeks old tomorrow and I’m just worried she isn’t getting enough milk when I BF. When I pump and give her a bottle she is done in 10 minutes then will sleep soundly until the next feeding. Is this a latching or lactation problem? Any advice on how to fix it?

i had the same "issue" in the hospital until the lactation consultant walked in during it and told me she wasnt eating, she was using me as a pacifier.

3 weeks they go through a growth spurt also so cluster feeding is normal so they can increase your milk supply

Right before three weeks my son started a growth spurt and ate every hour and a half to two hours and would eat, truly gulping for a half hour. This lasted for a full week! I also have to tickle my sons back sometimes if he starts sleeping before he’s eaten much or he’ll wake up ten minutes later needing to eat also!
