Help!

Ok so I think ever since I started my period I have noticed that the lips in my vagina, (specifically the right side), have gotten oddly large to the point where the right side pops out and rubs up against my underwear. It's quite painful at times and sometimes I have to tuck it in or fold it. I would say it is about an inch, but the left side seems ok. Please help idk what this is and idk if I should get it checked.
