Cerclage experiences?

So I am scheduled to have a cerclage on Tuesday and while I know it’s necessary, I’m still really anxious about it. I’ll be 12w5d.

All my high risk dr told me was they give you an epidural to numb you from the waist down and they stitch your cervix closed. He said I should be able to go to work the next day. Right now my cervix is measuring fine, but I lost twins previously at 20 weeks and they *think it was due to my cervix. He said it’s too risky not to have this done with my miscarriage history.

So I guess what I’m wondering is if anyone has had one of these before. What was it like? How did you feel? Anything you think I should know or anything you can add to ease my worry? I can’t find anyone I know who has had one done so I’m feeling pretty scared and alone! TIA
