What’s wrong with the name Brayden?

We’ve been struggling to come up with a boy name that’s not already taken by a close friend or family and one of the names that made it to our shortlist is Brayden (I’m not completely sold but I don’t have a better option either) but I’ve noticed every list on the app of horrible names has Brayden. So I’m wondering what’s so bad about the name?

Super trendy and sounds made up. Will fall out of style as quickly as it rose. Follows the trend of "place anything in front of 'den' and it becomes of name!" This is similar to the trend in girl names where every other new made up name ends in "lyn."

Because it’s way over used. He’ll be in school with like 12 other Brayden’s. Also it’s like aiden but there are now 1000 variations of it now to be “unique” when it’s anything but. I don’t necessarily hate the name but I think its time to give it a rest

It’s just popular. My husband are using Aiden (which has been called out by several people in this thread), but I’d rather use a popular name we both love than a unique name we feel half-heartedly over. So use it if you love it!

It’s another name on the Aidan, Caden, Graden, Jayden, Rayden, Kayden thing. It seems like every other boy is named this. But if you like it, that’s all that matters. Who cares what other people think?

My only thing is I'm a teacher and every Brayden I've had it disrespectful. But doesn't mean every Brayden out there is. If you like the name use it.

I don’t see a problem with it. I wouldn’t pick it for my own son but that’s because it’s my little brothers name.

My nephew's name is Braydin. I like his name. We call him Bray for a nickname or sometimes Bubba (that started when he was a baby 😂) I actually like the name a lot and have no idea why people hate on it so much.

nothing is wrong except it's a popular name and everyone is Aiden, Brayden, Jayden or some version of it.
