Can I request a certain midwife?

I’m definitely going to have a midwife for my birth but there are many different midwifes in the hospital and it’s not guaranteed that a specific one will be there. At my doctors office I see the same one and I was wondering if it’s reasonable if I request that she be present during my birth?

I think it depends on if she's on call when you go into labor or not. Some midwives/doctors make themselves available to their patients whenever they go into labor and some only do if they're on call. You'll have to ask them at your office how they do their rotation.
