Telling parents

I’m 18 and my boyfriend is 31. He wants to take me on holiday but my parents won’t let me go on holiday with someone they don’t know so I would have to tell them about him and his age. My parents have a 12 year age gap so probably wouldn’t mind too much but idk how to tell them i feel like its so awkward
