Need sleep
My day starts at 2:30am when I get up and go to work for 3:30am, most days I am able to be home and catch a nap while my toddler naps. Or in Tuesday’s and Thursday’s while he is in daycare for 2.5 hours. Some days I’m not so lucky though, and I don’t get home from work until he is waking up from his nap. I try to go to bed super early but even 7:30pm is too many hours awake. Usual bedtime for me is 9pm, leaving me with a solid 5 hours of sleep. After 13hrs of being awake I feel like I’m going to pass out standing up.
I am trying to teach my almost 2 year old how to have 1 hour of play time in his room while I take a quick power nap. He hates it and does nothing but scream on the top of his lungs! Making me feel like a terrible mother, and end up getting him after 15 mins. Making it impossible for me to sleep. I explain to him that he is not in trouble and he doesn’t have to go to sleep. Mommy just needs a nap.
What can I do??? Is it even okay to nap while he is awake? Safely in his room with a gate.....?? I feel so bad for him but I’m 24weeks pregnant, and sometimes I just can’t hold it together long enough to stay awake for 18 hours a day!! I literally feel delirious. 😭
